Lucia's the name, play is the game! I love to run and play and just be a silly girl. I am a medium size dog, a boxer mix of some sort. My foster family takes me to the park every day and I just love to run! I play pretty well with every dog I've met, but my favourite thing to do is to run and be chased. My recall is coming along nicely, I listen pretty well but can get a little stuck on some things like birds, cats and squirrels so my ears don't always work when I'm super focused on something. My foster family has been working on that and I've made some progress, but continued training will help. Speaking of cats, my foster family has several of all age ranges, and I like them. I admit, a couple of them are fun to chase, but if your cat is dog savvy and just ignores me, we'll likely get along famously. After a big trip to the park and a good run, my next favourite thing to do is cuddle up with my people. I'm 100% a lap dog and will try to squish my 55lb body onto any size lap, whether you want me to or not, I'm not big on personal space. I don't mind my crate during the day and as much as I'd prefer to be snoozing in bed, curled up next to you, I do sleep in my crate at night as well. Some other things we've been working on is the jumping thing. I like to meet new people and tend to try to meet face to face, and for some reason humans don't seem to like that. I get told, "No, no, four on the floor" fairly often, but I'm getting better. I need a tall fence that has no open spots as I can be a bit of an escape artist - I see a bird or squirrel and I just need to follow it! I am house trained, but have had a couple accidents in the house because I didn't know how to tell my people I need to go outside, but they've learned my cues now. I'm in the prime of my life and would love to keep learning new things with my forever family. My foster's say I am a lovely dog and will make someone a very happy addition to their family.
