Hi my name is Suzy. I am a crate trained girl and use it also as my safe place. I am food driven and love dog treats. I sometimes whine for some of your food, because it smells so good. I am still nervous around new people but I am slowly coming out of my shell. I am not a barker but I startled my foster mom and dad when they heard me bark for the first time. I initially feared the leash and walks. I would freeze or run away when I saw the leash, but my resident sister is trying to help me not to fear the leash so we all can go and explore the new, safer world that I am slowly learning is OK. Thanks to her I love to go for walks now. I am still skittish around people and other animals we encounter on our walks but having my humans near me help. I really need someone who is patient with me. I am very nervous around young children and sudden, loud noises. Once I feel like I fit in with a family, I get seperation anxiety, but I am working hard to overcome that issue. I would prefer a home with no children or over the age of 13 and a very confident and mellow sister/brother. I would love to have you at home with me most of the time so we can bond and you can teach me that everything will be fine. I do get bored and nervous so having me in a kennel for short periods is ok. I love to sleep near you, I am ok with a bed on the floor or kennel in the same room, I am house trained but accidents do happen especially when I am nervous. I will not grow too much more as I am just a little smaller than my mama. I would love to have a large yard so I can run around and play. I am learning to play with my humans but this will take time so please be patient with me. With a sibling dog or puppy, I will initially be fearful, but warm up quickly and will enjoy playing with them, llike I do with my resident sister.

Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we may deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
What does 'Manageable' mean? This animal can be integrated into a home however will need SPECIFIC supports in place for this to be successful.
