Hi, my name is Toulouse. I came to SCARS from a small-town animal pound, no one knows much about my background. I love, love, love to "talk," but I only speak "cat," so no one really understands my stories. My foster mom loves my chirpy voice, and we have some great conversations. I get along pretty well with her two resident cats, but sometimes we growl at each other. If I feel cornered, I get scared, and sometimes I panic a bit but it never lasts long. I love wandering around my foster home, and I like to be near my people, but I am very, very shy about being touched and petted (which is too bad, because I am sooo soft!). I want you close, but only on my terms, lol. I will run away if you come too near, and I may hiss at you if you don't back off - I don't want to scare you, I just need my space. I get a bit closer every day to my foster mom, but even she is still not allowed to pet me (I do enjoy eating treats sometimes from her hand). Sometimes I like to hide, but my chirpy voice always gives me away. I would love to meet you, but I may need to do it from a safe distance, even if we are "zooming." I will try to come and say hello, but my shyness may get the best of me. I do want a "furever" home, and some people of my own who will love me, even with all my quirks. I will do best in a quiet home, perhaps with one other cat. I will probably be OK with older kids who understand and respect my boundaries. I haven't met any dogs while in care but they may be a bit too much for me.

Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we may deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
What does 'Manageable' mean? This animal can be integrated into a home however will need SPECIFIC supports in place for this to be successful.
