Hi guys, I am just over a year old. I'm not your regular "shy dog. In my own element with a dog buddy I'm actually quite confident. My foster home is on an acreage and that would be my perfect home. I do not like new things or noises and like to stay in my own environment. For this reason a city home would not be a good match for me. I am a country girl. I do love my people and love to follow them around and give kisses on the hand. I'm not a real fan of being attached to you by a leash or being touched by strangers. I'm okay if foster mom feels the need to touch me. I can be quite affectionate with her if she is sitting down. She can do everything from give me meds, pet me and trim my nails. I am really a dog's dog. I would need to go to a home where I could have a canine sibling or two. A brother would be ideal as I can try to be bossy at times with the girls. I love the cats here. As a matter of fact, I love them at 100 miles an hour. I'm not sure what the issue with that is but sometimes they don't really appreciate it. I really would love to find my forever home with lots of patience!

I'm a Sanctuary AnimalWhat's a sanctuary animal? Sanctuary animals are permanent wards of SCARS due to medical conditions or behavioral issues and we are not likely to ever find an adoptive family. SCARS is committed to giving these animals a home and the love, care and attention they deserve! We house them at our two main intake facilities. We look to businesses to sponsor Sanctuary Animals to help us offset the cost of housing them. Click here learn more about our Sanctuary Animals
Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we may deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
What does 'Manageable' mean? This animal can be integrated into a home however will need SPECIFIC supports in place for this to be successful.
