PETraits Fundraiser for SCARS

Thank you to talented artist, Justina Smith, for her pet portraits fundraiser for SCARS. Here is her heartfelt description of how the fundraiser went…

“To be honest, it was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me. So many of you shared very detailed and personal stories about your pets and their impact on your lives. I painted portraits of pets that are still with us making us laugh, and pets that are no longer with us and have left a definite blank space. It brought back so many memories of my various furry friends and the pain that losing them can bring, and the simple joy they provide daily with their little quirks. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and photos with me and for participating in this fundraiser! I worked on PETraits for 66 days (October 1 – December 15, minus 5 day trip to Manitoba in November and a 5 day trip to Toronto in December). There were 35 participants. I painted 60 pet portraits. The total amount raised was $12,190.50 so SCARS gets $6,095.25″

We are truly grateful for her support and for bringing so much joy to people with her beautiful PETtraits. Check them out on her website.
