May 13 update…Update on CUJO, the handsome senior dog! Sadly after being mauled with extensive damage to his face and inside of his mouth, Cujo is back at the vet clinic and will need to stay there for a while. The veterinary team had hoped that after treating all his injuries and doing some dental work that he would heal up nicely. However, the damage is so bad that the tissue has started to die and will need to be removed. This is very common in attacks like this. We remain committed to Cujo. This very lovely senior is one happy guy despite his misfortune!!

May 8 Cujo UPDATE!! 🐾 He is doing great! His mouth and face are full of stitches but he’s recovering. He will be on a mush food for awhile, he’s happy and still wags his tail.

Thanks for all the kind words, donation and support. He is not available for adoption at this time but please keep a keen eye on the website! 🙌
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️*Graphic Images Ahead*⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ On May 2, 2022, we told you about two urgent rescues. This is an update on the dog that had been seriously injured by another dog. We have since learned this handsome senior’s name is CUJO. He came is yesterday after being mauled by another dog. Last night the focus was to stabilize him on fluids, pain killers and antibiotics. Today he was stable enough to have surgery to clean and close up some of his wounds. His mouth inside and outside where the worst. Including broken teeth. Thank you Athabasca vet and staff for taking such good care of this sweet guy.
