We are thrilled to have been chosen as the charity of choice for the 12th annual Wagathon (aka Bikeathon) fundraiser!

This year’s event involves the students of W.P. Wagner, Kate Chegwin, Svend Hansen, Weinlos, Minchau, and Pollard Meadows. Student teams of 8-10 will keep their stationary bike tires spinning for 24 hours from 8AM, April 12 through 8AM, April 13.

Please join us in thanking these compassionate students for choosing to help homeless pets!

Here is some background on the event

Since 2008, W.P. Wagner High School has united annually to turn our motto of “Pay it Forward” into a reality. By engaging in local service projects and massive global initiatives, W.P. Wagner students have had a chance to learn about servant leadership, entrepreneurship, citizenship, and social affairs. Over the past 11 years, W.P. Wagner students have raised over $609,000 for local and global charities.

The Wagathon (aka Bikeathon) is a 24-hour event. Student teams of 8-10 will keep their stationary bike tires spinning from 8am on April 12, 2019 to 8am on April 13, 2019. During the time other team members are not riding, they can sleep, eat, support their team member who is riding, and participate in the activities that will be taking place throughout the school in the 24 hours. This portion of the event will be ridiculously fun!

Last year… In partnership with the Zebra Child Protection Centre, students at W.P. Wagner High School, Kate Chegwin Junior High School, and Weinlos Elementary School worked together towards the common goals of supporting children who have experienced abuse and creating a future where every child is heard. They raised an amazing $134,000.
